The Stray Cats have always been my favorite band. He plays a unique style of guitar where he strums occasionally then tucks the pick into the folds of his index finger and uses fingers 3 and 4 to pick the strings.. He shows in this video that you can actually play banjo that way.

I've seen him do this with a Gretsch banjo but has a Deering goodtime here.

Hi

I think you´ll find that it´s a Deering crossfire electric Banjo.

Certainly different great guy especially the videos with his Big band.

Greg Lizst of Crooked Still also plays with four picks that maybe why he sounds so unique .

I meant to say Deering Crossfire (my mistake)

I didn't know that about the guy from Crooked still. I tried that when I started but couldn't make it work..

there is a dobro player here in Athens that uses 4 picks. I played Classical guitar before I played banjo.. still couldn't make it work.. very impressive.

Thanks for the link. Setzer is one of my favorite guitar players. I like everything he does from Rockabilly to Big Band and classical.
