Bob Roberts posted that he wants to see me build a banjo like that, flames and all.
Well, since the OTHER thread is "Anti-Earl, and I don't want to bumpf it back to the top of the page,
I'm starting a whole new Topic, about how this could be done.
Since brass tubes are already run under fingerboards for the 5th string tunnel, in some banjos, that's an obvious consideration for the peghead flame ports.
Plenty of room in the pot for a small propane cylinder.
Add a piezo igniter, and there ya GO!
Or, a 12V battery, a windshield washer pump, and a reservior of lighter fluid, and it's a flame thrower.
Any of YOU sick twisted evil Supervillians have any suggestions?

I would probably opt for a butane cyl and use an old knee lever to operate the valve and microswitch for the ignitor. Post pics when this hot pot is ready

Are you trying to imply that I am as much of a comic genius as both the fellow who came up with the story line for the DOLLMAN comic,
and Steve Martin?

I wonder how Steve protected the finish on his peghead from the heat of the fireworks?
I'd guess (and I may be a genius, and still able to guess wrong) that it was some non-mar painter's masking tape, THEN some fire=resistive and insulating material, and then the device.
With all due respect to Mr. Martin, his seemed to be a one-shot deal, which would have to be reloaded, taking some time and effort, between each strike of terror into the hearts of his enemies.
My concept was for a multi-flame device.
Maybe he has fewer enemies.
Obviously, much of the time he might have spent online, annoying people and making enemies, he spent instead on learning the subtle intricacies of playing the banjo well.
I did not; hence the different requirements in our pyrotechnic output.

Woo hoo! If I had the time, I might attempt to make one myself, just for the fun of it, and to see the looks on people's faces when you light it up.
