does anyone know the list of songs presented in old time mountain banjo by art rosenbaum. i was thinking about getting a copy from amazon and was just curious. i am a fan of his newwer book art of the mountain banjo.

It also has a great 2 finger up-picking version of "Coal Creek March" based on Pete Steele's playing that is not listed in the TOC...go to abebooks (American Bookman's Exchange), lot cheaper there than Amazon...

Pete Steel's Coal Creek March is a classic. I have a 2-finger version on mt BHO music page. Pete switches between thumb and finger lead but mine stays in finger lead. I first got it from a 1938 Lomax recording at the Library of Congress. Mr Rosenbaum told me that in 1958 Pete Steele stood behind him and by reaching around Art from behind, showed him how to play the tune. Art was just a teenager then.

I believe the CD included in the Art of Mountain Banjo is actually a re-release of the two LP's Art did on Kicking Mule.
