Gee, I wish the guys who organise tours from USA checked their atlas'. There is dry land north of Watford in UK. Some of it is inhabited.

there are even countries other than england there too!

our last tour of the UK was three weeks long and took us to all four coasts, england, scotland and wales. there was even a date in hartlepool, near you. this time around the tour is a short one and the dates all landed in the south. maybe we'll catch up next time!

warmly,

J

Hi Jayme, I apologise if my post came across a bit snide. Next time you're anywhere near I'll definitely come see you and if you're anywhere as close as Hartlepool we have room for a couple of overnight guests.

I am s-o-o-o annoyed at missing your November UK dates as I got "Africa to Appalachia" in the post today ("The Utmost" is still on its way) and have been playing it all day - really brilliant! But then I did get to see Steve Martin and Bela Fleck when they appeared in London last month so I guess 2 out of 3 great US banjo people in one month ain't that bad, especially for us in the UK. I suppose it's a bit soon to ask if you're planning a return visit to this side of the pond in the near future ...?

I notice Liz McElawain has a 1920 John Grey Banares in her picture. I had one of those and sold it to an American about 1973 when I was busking in Portobello Road Market whilst playing an Ibanez. When I was in the Merchant Navy I took it with me all over the world.

hi liz,

glad you're enjoying the music and sorry you missed the last tour. i'll be making a new album next year that will be released in the UK in early 2011. i know that's a long way off, but likely the next time i'll be touring there. if you send me your email, i can let you know when that tour (or an earlier one) gets announced.

kindly,

J
