I’ve been looking at entry level banjos at Banjo.com and the Savannah SB – 300 caught my eye. The tone ring is bell bronze (I wanted to avoid the rolled affair), and the overall build quality looks good. It clocks in at $600.00 (it seems a good value at that price for a “starter ‘jo”). I don’t want to go too cheap for a beginner ‘jo, and this instrument seems a good place to start. Here’s the link:

I have a graduation to go to in May (D. C.), and some computer hardware to acquire I ate summer. After that I’ll be free to save for this banjo. So, with that said, any thoughts or impressions o this banjo?

Thanks...I was really concerned with its general construction in case I wanted to make tweaks, which as I've seen here in the forum is unavoidable. Overall I thought, given the price point and its build quality, it would be a good value.
