For the last 7 months I've been using one of these heads.I had it torqued down pretty darn tight and was getting some great tone from my 33 conversion,but I could see my flange starting to pull up either side of the heal.I've decided to replace it with a Remo.I've got a Snuffy Smith recoated Remo,but I would like to take off some of the extra coating by sanding or steel wool.Has anyone ever sanded that stuff off?

Nah I just thought something like "sanding extra coating off remo head" might be more likely to catch the attention of people who have. I was comin' in here to comment on the skin head (I think the GT heads are too thick). The topic name is just a little misleading, that's all.

I was getting some good tone from it ,but only at a very tight setting.I had that Snuffy kicking around and put it on this afternoon.I decided to not sand it...when I got it tightened to a G# it came to life pretty good.I guess it's going to be alright without sanding.
