*EDIT* I will leave the rest of this thread, but I thought I would post this up front. If you have a Myspace page, you may well find yourself getting an email from Bigtime Entertainment wanting to book you for a show. Don't.

*/EDIT*
Ok. I am sitting here at the office, providing essential government services by cruising the web, when I get an email from a local promoter who has checked out my Myspace page and thinks I would fit a show his is putting together.
I have never performed, aside from a couple of specials at church, in my life, and I have really never considered myself a performer. I don't think I would have much of a stage presence. Plus all them people would be staring at me. The mic scares me plenty all by itself.
So. I can cop out and decline - my goals have never really included fame and bright lights - but face the possibility of wishing I had given it a shot, or I can sign on - assuming that he ends up offering me a gig - and face the possibility of crashing and burning in a very public manner.
Please discuss and advise.
