does anybody do any kind of "Boxcar Willie"type whistle on the 5 string? I've been learning Ross Nickersons licks from his Banjo Encyclopedia for months now as I'm going down to his banjo camp in Wales in May. I haven't been learning many songs as I've been trying to get the licks down. I sat down this afternoon without the book and was just playing a few tunes by ear and Washbash Cannonball was a tune that I never tried before and wow Ross's licks are paying dividends. anyway I thought a Boxcar growlin, whistle would fit in somewhere, even at the start.
Does anybody know of such a lick? keep it simple!
