I got a mountain dulcimer just before Christmas, and in the evening the day I got it I recorded this one, accompanying myself on the guitar. I hadn't tried the instrument before, so please don't judge me too hard :-)

Wow, quite impressive for playing the mountain dulcimer for just one day! I rather prefer that simple picking to strumming the dulcimer. Your pairing of the dulcimer with the guitar sound like a match made in heaven.

Dulcimer is such a beautiful sounding instrument, hearing this makes me realize I need one myself. It would be such a great instrument to add to recordings, such great texture. Doing that well on your first day with the instrument shows you're a natural. I wonder how it would mix with a 12-string guitar as well?
