Facebook marketplace find. Is this from Tut or Mark Taylor? Headstock inlay seems to match. Seller claims it's an ultra-rare museum piece and is asking a pretty penny. I'm not so sure.

Any ideas?

Well, once again I've been thwarted by the "jpeg-only" rule and cannot upload the PNG image files...

schlange any progress on allowing PNG files?

It has a Gibson top tension style peghead which has been favored by Mark Taylor so it's a good possibility that he made it.

I'm betting that the sound is REALLY disappointing. I built something like it myself without a back. Configured like that one is, I think that the back will make it even worse.

Ross Nickerson used to sell something like this. It was called the ResNick. It had sound wells on either side of the neck, so the sound had someplace to project from. This one does not, so I think David's prediction is probably right.

Dobro and later OMI made resophonic banjos but used guitar and mandolin bodies—both larger than resonator shape of this Tennessee. John Hartford's original recording of Gentle on My Mind was recorded on a "Dobjo".

It might be rare, but I doubt that there is a huge market for a dobro-banjo.

No progress (or plans for progress). PNG as a file format isn't efficient for photos, so it doesn't make much sense, in my book, to support it.
