Someone pointed out that they couldn't find John Prine's "Paradise" in the BHO tab archive... ('cause it wasn't there!)...

How could that be?

Well, it's there now...

And in the key of D... the native key... (where the 'natives' play it!)

BTW: Played in D out of standard G tuning and NO CAPO required! Get out your 'bar' chords! ;)

Thanks Tom. Always liked Paradise. Sort of a nostalgia song for sure. Remembering back when gas was a quarter a gallon like when I got my first car.

I drank a lot of beer to that song in my early twenties...

BTW: My first car...

Jim,

That song must have been written for an instrument OTHER than a banjo...

That low A and the notes leading down to it aren't on any banjos I own...

May be a fiddle-oriented tune...

I've been playing it on the mandolin.  It sounds nice, nice changes.

banjotom2 - Posted - 03/03/2012:  13:34:59

Upon closer examination, it IS in 2 parts like a fiddle tune...

It does have a nice chord progression...

We have us a new song to play... and coincidence brought it about!

Tom, A bit of googling with the name Alan Craig and the title The Rackety Old Banjo brought me to this interesting Australian website:

Who is the young lady in the previous post?
