IMO “the KIDD’s” video arrangement and production of “LAST TRAIN FROM POSERVILLE (the movie)," brings together eclectic musical talent, creativity, light humor and recording expertise. His video not only captured and held my interest, but also kept me entertained and, at times, laughing. If you haven’t viewed the video, here is the link: banjohangout.org/myhangout/vid...ID=11906.
I believe if we had more videos like the KIDD’s to watch, all of us would tend to be happier people, temporarily forget our woes, be more civil and understanding to each other and more.
A lot of us have our share (or more than our share) of earthly troubles. The BHO is a place to go where we can momentarily “step outside” of our personal challenges to engage in all-matters banjo. Entertaining or helping each other makes for a healthier, more satisfying and informed environment. We are not better than each other, just different.
I hope that the KIDD will continue to create and post entertaining, light-hearted videos. I’m already (in line) to watch the next one!

it was horrible. he was making fun of members. does that make you happy and civil?

I'm sorry that you found the video upsetting, Stringbreaker. I can't really relate to the video beyond what I viewed.

I'm a fan.
What I think is incredible is that maybe 20 years ago, something like this would have cost thousands of dollars to produce and I'd have tp wait through other videos on some music channel to see it. Today you can put these videos together with a little talent and minimal equipment and I can watch it repeatedly whenever I want online. It's amazing to think that this wasn't done as someone's huge studio project. This was really just a very clever and well produced post on John's frustrations with some of the posters on the site.
Technology is good
Great Job John (aka "The KIDD")!!

I think The Kidd did a great job. Compared to his playing, I am the poser, but I don't feel there is malice aimed at any of us. Great job Kidd! I await more postings of songs by you.

No!!...NO!!!...I'm really not a banjo player...but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Great video, John!!LOL

I liked it! He looked as if he had fun at it, and spent a lot of time on it. It was creative and well done. We're not all here at BHO for the same reason(s). I am a member of the now famous Poser group and I am not offended in the least. Maybe The Kidd started something that's gonna inspire more fun, humor, and interest. Oh, and by the way, I am impressed with his pickin' too.
mikey5string - Posted - 03/27/2011: 18:35:06
that was funny.
not even because of what he was singing about.
he was playing the keyboard like a guitar.

What a blast, and great playing. Having seen the video... I certianly know who to ask if I have any recording/mixing/video questions.

If we can't laugh at ourselves, there's a lot of other folks who will laugh at us, whether we want them to, or not.
DantheBanjoMan - Posted - 03/27/2011: 21:46:18
I don't agree with the spirit of the song at all. The purpose of a forum is to provide a place for open discussion of ideas, and the song seems to suggest that people who are not as talented and don't play as well have less of a right to express their opinions, and I can't get on board with that.
I know some of you who liked this video are really decent people and you are able to take this as light-hearted and if you feel that way I can only attribute it to your own good nature and your ability to see the best in others.
I think it is possible to be clever and funny and talented without going this route, and I hope the KIDD will use his considerable talents to produce something that is really funny that doesn't run the risk of hurting someone else's feelings in his next venture.

Dan,
Take a # man
. Theres a select few want me gone from this site.
I know you guys follow me around the site tryin to getter done.Ive had to leave several groups becuase of you guys having done nothing wrong. The video has NOTHING to do with anyones playing abilty.Doesnt even have anything to do with music or playing a banjo. Its about puttin up a front being something your not and tryin to discredit those of us who have payed our dues.It could pertain to anything. My only crime on here from day one has been to defend myself when attacked. If ya REALLY want the truth about someone, what they stand for, and truly represent here, do a past posting history on them.If you had done that concerning me,you'd see how wrong you are.Just the soundfiles I mail out weekly from my G mail account and supporting of "Sound Off"is proof enough I would never belittle anyone for their lack of playing skills or lack of exp. (Lets see YOUR G mail account???) . BUT
, I think you have other motives. Hey guess what, Im not runnin....
Keep tryin Pat G!

John.....Pure brilliance. Although there is a subliminal message in there if you play it backwards.....It whispers 'Brilliant multi-talented musician' to you apparently !!!!!

I had a lot of clever things I could say, but I liked it and it didn't hurt my feelings!

Hey All,
I assure you that I have no intentions beyond trying to promote an attitude of mutual respect on the forum. I have nothing against the KIDD and if there is some kind of conspiracy to get him off this site I unaware of it and certainly not part of it.
Apparently there is some kind of official Poser group that consists of seventeen members and has been in existence since January, but this is not a common bit of knowledge, and without that piece of information the video comes across in a way other than it was intended.
One of the site guidelines is that we're supposed to avoid things which can be misconstrued or misunderstood, and clearly that's what happened here. I wrote my previous post with a slow hand and tried to look at the video from every which way to see if there was another meaning that I was missing, but clearly this was an inside joke and I was an outsider.
Inside jokes are fine, but if you're going to post them publicly then it would be helpful to give the rest of some kind of heads up or this kind of misunderstanding is inevitable.

I have to agree with you, Dan, it came across to me as mean-spirited. Maybe I just didn't understand it. Sorry guys, and sorry John, but I didn't care for it, though it was incredibly crafted.
Hammerknocker - Posted - 03/28/2011: 15:04:38
Since I've always liked the old Monkees tune I would have liked the song better with the original lyrics but other than that I thought it was a job well done for a home production. the banjo tones sounded nice.

SB!after 2 pages and thats all ya got?I expected more for you and your posse. OH BTW,where are they? 2 pages and they're no where to be found? I see you did pick up a few extra supporters though. Well?,one reason may be that people are wising up and doing a past posting history so they're better informed of who their dealing with. Yep
like your DNA, finger prints, a dash cam , court cam etc, the PPH makes sure the truth is able to stand against you and the other 5-6 we know and love and is able to protect someones character. WE (check my comments and likes to find out who WE is
) support one another daily with all things banjo and their PPH will prove that as well. What the 5-6 (well now 7-8) might wanna realize (prolly dont count on
) is that every time you attack US, my play count goes WAY up and my friend list grows. Look at all the positive comments...Why do ya think there are SO many?Your free to make of this what you will.In spite of all this,Im sure the other 5-6 of ya will be alone shortly. You cant help it.. Its all your about (check PPH).Its all ya GOT!![]()

Go for it John, us ''newbies'' are getting wise to SB and his cronies! Your right, they're easy to spot. Keep up the good work man, it's all about the music for me and not the pointless and nonsensical threads. All the best!
