Upon trying page one, I discovered that this thread had no page 2.



I am only trying to assist in bettering the hangout. So if someone wants to look into this, please do.

A thread actually goes to another page after every 25 replies. If there are exactly 25 replies it says there is a second page but until there is a 26th reply there really isn't. I don't know why this is, but I've learned to look at the reply count before I select a page number.

It's one of the endearing quirks of the forum software and it has been that way for quite a while. We've told Eric about it before.

No not pointless at all! It seems to be a bug which causes some user problems, so it's good to bring it up from time to time.

Yes, this started happening to me at the change recently made. It appears on all the sites, so it is a software bug (undocumented feature, as we used to call them).

All you have to do is add another post and it'll go automatically to page 2. I'll try it and make sure that happens.

The problem arises when you want to go to the end of thread that has a multiple of 25 posts. If you click the last page showing, you get the blank, and as I recall, no way to get to the previous occupied page without back-paging or going back to the original forum. It gets even more complicated when some posts have been deleted. Say for example, Sherry has deleted three posts out of 100. The post count shows as 97, but the 4th page still registers.
