This is not the Pro I model this is the PRO II model ! Big difference.
But it's not as bad as this one being a Gibson banjo:

Nice price...if you can get it.

Looks like a bargain!

If you look at the revision history of the auction, you'll see that the seller changed the minimum bid price, probably along with setting the title to "SOLD - DO NOT BID". Most likely to keep everyone from bidding on an item already sold elsewhere.

That has to be a joke, or there are two insane people out there, buyer and seller!

Also, I notice that the bid is still active, but the headline says "Sold Don't Bid."

Shelbyville, TN is outside of Memphis. All sounds like b.s. to me.

Ummmnnnn. I believe you are thinking of Shelby County where Memphis is located...Shelbyville is a small town in South Central TN below Nashville and above the Alabama line - Bedford County, I think...

I also own an Aria Pro II and while they are very good for late 70s or early 80s Japanese imports, it seems to me the going rate is between 800-1000 unless the rim and tone ring have been swapped out...just my opinion...

Ronnie - Posted - 11/19/2009:  06:40:04

Possibly a typo? A decimal point off?

BanjoLink - Posted - 11/19/2009:  07:04:41

Traded it for two $3800 Madieras!

Hey, hey!! It has an EAGLE!!

beegee - Posted - 11/19/2009:  09:02:06

I emailed the seller of the Aria Pro II. He said he sold the banjo locally for $700. The $7600 was a typo and he could not figure out how to revise the listing.

Ahhhhh Shelbyville, Tennessee Walking Horse capital of the world and also some great high school girls basketball. And now evidently the Aria Pro II center of the banjo world. Wow go figure.

Well, it isn't very far from Jack Daniel's distillery!!

The banjo was for sale locally, while aslo being listed on ebay. The add was revised on ebay after the local sale took place and as the earlier post stated the seller made a typo in the listing. The banjo is now in my possession, and has a new home.

I just completed replacing the frets and gave it a proper setup and put a Snuffy Smith bridge on it , tap tuned the head to an A and it cracks pretty good for a vintage import banjo from th 70's era

I have a pro II with vine inlay. I would let it go for that price any time. Heck for 7600. I would hand deliver it.
