re-banding

We're breaking in a new guitar picker, a bass player and hopefully a fiddler. None has much exposure to bluegrass, so we have a rather clean slate with which to work. It's challenging to school someone, but not nearly as daunting as trying to find, re-program and retain more experienced pickers. We play what I call bluegrass-flavored music from a variety of sources. I try to avoid hard-core Bill Monroe music. I'm more into a Country Gentlemen/Seldom Scene/Larry sparks mixed genre. I prefer to do songs with a good poem, story or hook and instrumentally, I like Emerson/Adcock/Osborne material.
