is this worth any effort? i'm wanting a tenor pretty badly but i want an orpheum and this isn't that. is it worth any time and effort and cash?

This looks like a low end student model. The 'top tension' stretcher band is similar to the lower end ludwig's and do tend to disintegrate. I think you can do better.
