My take on a relatively common tune. Key of D.

Another recording of Boatman. This time with a slightly different A part, learned from Mike Seeger's version. Also of note is the fact this is played on my home made, fretless fruit-bowl banjo. Tuning is dGDF#A, so it's sounding in D.

This one is something like William Stepp's 1937 recording, and also Hunter Robertson's take on that version. I recorded this as a test of my newly brass-plated fretless conversion. Played in D (I strung it light so I could tune up to pitch w/o a capo.) I've simplified it to AA BB AA B'B' - where B' is the high octave variation.

Played on my home-made cookie-tin rim / plastic bottle head banjo (aka the Tinjo.) Not my best version, but it's one of the few recordings I've got of the tinjo in that form.

A couple of clawhammer jigs, played on my nylgut strung spun-rim banjo.
"Sally Hunter" is a Scottish tune composed by Niel Gow, which I learned off a recording of Jordi Savall playing it on the treble viol. "Seven Stars" is an old English jig that I heard played by Bellowhead.

Clawhammer, gDGDE, for TOTW. Probably learned this of Henry Sapoznik's recording.
