I am orginaly from Mt.Airy NC...home of Andy Griffin. My Mama watched Andy grow up down near Church St. Mt.Airy NC.**My Mama was a song writer and wrote Poetry. She was accepted in the Great Wordl Of Poetry in Washington DC in the eighties. Her health was failing, she then wasn't able to fly. I was picked to go with her. I would follow Mama around @ our 'ole farm near Wadesboro NC where we all pcked Cotton. She would sing all the time, I learned singing from her I would say. She is greatly missed by all. I have personally come a long way since a youngin' pickin Cotton. I experienced working for Hershey Chocolate Company , in Pa. for app. 12 years. I resigned then to go back to MT.Airy NC to take care of my Mama before Our Lord called Her Home. I did some pickin' in Pa. with some of my Friends from Hershey PA.**In 1989 I met the man of my life. He told me he loved Blu-graz music. We clicked ! He was a guitarist since age 9. We were married in 1993. We both have picked' with various bands. In 2006 we were Blessed ! We found our other Soul Mate Blu-graz pickers to form an energetic blu-graz band. We have been pickin since then. We Love our Blu-graz Family ! My husband Richard is our guitarist and does most of our Lead. Harold Vass is our Banjo picker' and has helped us so much ! He has opened up for Ralph Stanley few times and Picked' @ the Carter fold.Charlie Stimac is our Mandolin picker & writes songs for our band. I play the ole' up right(1939 Kay) base.**Jamming with good motivated People is fun also ! We have met fablous People out there ! Mona Jo Griffin is one of them!! We met her and David @ Wayside Park this year jamming where I did my ice-cream show. Other great People we have met this year also, Our Banjo picker' Harold, was very sick this past week-end so MonaJo filled in for us @ Floyd Country Store. She did a wonderful job! Also thanks to David her husband whom does the filming! Good job yawl'! Music is a must ! It is part of our life. We highly promote Tradtioanl Bluegrass Music and Gospel ! We are pretty busy! I have had a great opportunity singing with Jeanette Williams a couple years back @ Apple Wood Park Cana, Va,.....MonaJo wasn't it fun pickin this summmer on stage @ Wayside Park with some of ' The Daughters Of Bluegrass? **We hope to see yawl' again soon!
