Wonderful Kairos 3 day At CBCC
Monday, March 26, 2012 @9:36:21 AM
Thank you for your prayers. Played my tenor a lot it gives a real you to happy up beat songs. To see hardened prisoners dancing and singing Love songs to Jesus is joy of the spirit. One Life with out inmate said he felt like he had been released from prison for the 3 days. Several gang members said "they were going to try to care for the other gangs, and work to stop conflicts". CBCC had been known as the gladiator school and there was much gang friction.

KAIROS is a great respite from the daily prison life. The only prisons I've visited on week-ends, have huge dorms, dark and noisy. They are like a zoo and I don't know how anybody gets enough rest; nothing like the privacy we see on TV. Our time with them is generally in the chapel or just outside in our huge tent and they enjoy the time with us once they get a feel of what is there for them. |

CBCC Is a medium and Maximum unit built about 15 years ago. They all have 1 room mate in something like a small college room. The rooms face out on 3 story open area with all the showers etc. on the main level. The open area above the common area extends the 3 stories and has a silo effect. It also is very loud and cage like. Thanks again for your prayers. Let me know when you go back in and I will pray for you. |
