A cabinet maker in Springfield, LA, by the name of Mac Norrid made my Stew-Mac from an archtop kit in 1981. It was a combination birthday present (Nov. 81) and college graduation present (March 82) from my Mom. Mac was a banjo playing and building friend of hers. It's a beautiful instrument with freehand carved Mother of Pearl inlays depicting Biblical scenes. It's not my only banjo, but it's my MAIN banjo, especially for bluegrass.
