New member of the Kentuck Banjo Pickers

Hello, fellow KY pickers. I just found this group but am a member of Beginners forum. I live in Mayfield about 25 miles south of Paducah. I received my banjo for Christmas a year ago. Josh Coffee of Bawn in the Mash, a professional band in Paducah is my instructor. Although I am still a long way from being a picker, I really enjoy playing the banjo and Bluegrass music. I hope you welcome me into your group.

Hello from Hodgenville. Begin my banjo lessons last week and I'm excited about playing. Terry Strange in E-town is my teacher.

E-Town Hardin county is a great place! Are there alot of pickers in the Hodgenville E-Town area? I know there is alot going on a little farther north up in Shepherdsville...I have a few friends up that way from way back..havent seen em in a while but I know they still pick.

It would be good if those in KY could get together sometime. I would think a central location would be the Bluegrass Museum in Owensboro.

Been there many times but not in a long while. Actually a more central location would probably be more like Louisville at the Galt house or the riverside park or Sullivans. Owensboro would be a long haul for the folks over on the east side.

I am attending an engineering conference in April in Louisville. Would anyone like to meet on a Saturday to get acquainted. Maybe Lexington? I'm a newbe so I don't play like some of you guys but would like to have some fun jamming.

Drag out a year old thread. I'm in Paducah, and learning to play clawhammer while I get my back in order again. This is very enjoyable. It will be a while before I'm ready to jam, but I'm on it every day.
