I am just eating up this "Kyle Creed Clawhammer Master" tab book series. I have just finished the fiddle tune "Jimmy Sutton" and now on to "Fortune" Playing along with the tab is helping me to visualize and hear certain things and the way they work in the music....I highly recommend this tablature book!
Another thing: "It seems that since I have put the new bridges on my banjos, new planetary tuners and No-Knot tailpieces on my banjos, my old trusty Goodtime Crow has been my "go-to" banjo as of late more than my classic. This of course is subject to change at any given moment. I have it tuned a "half-step" lower and I can say that it has a darn plunky old-timey tone to it....especially when I play right where the neck meets the banjo pot. Not sure if my next banjo will be a fretless, but I think rather than get a scoop..I just might have the neck unscooped but without the lower frets....dunno yet we will see.
