Ducks on the Millpond video

From metascrawl on 11/4/2011 3:13:57 PM

Okay everyone, here's my video of Ducks on the Millpond. It's extremely rough, but most of the notes are in the right place I think.

I wish someone would secretly film me while I'm playing, because I can get it a bit smoother and more accurate without the pressure of being recorded. Also, the footage is very low res from my £20 webcam, but the sound off my pickup is okay. Anyway, here it is:

Also, I thought I'd post this video of me playing Sugar Baby, although I learned it from Hunter's youtube video rather than the DVD. It is on the DVD of course, but it's a different version.

All feedback appreciated!

Sam, good job! Sounds like you're over the hump on that one, with some more playing you'll get it smoothed out just fine.

It's amazing what a recorder can do to your nerves isn't it? One does seem to get used to it, to some degree anyway, with repeated exposure. Kind of like TB inoculations.

Nice Sugar Baby too. Great that you learned it from that old youtube video too, I'm glad to see it get some use.

As an aside, seeing you're in London, I'll be playing there in May, the 27th at Walthamstow Folk Club, and north in Baldock on the 23rd. There's a possibility of a workshop too, still working that out.

Thanks Hunter! I'm really enjoying playing the tune. I might post another video when I'm more confident with it.

I'll definitely come and see you play in May, and if you do end up doing the workshop then count me in!

Cool, do put up another video then. It's always fun to see these, for me.

I'll post something once the workshop is finalized, but I should have said, that's actually being set up in the Midlands. I look forward to seeing you in London in any case.

Hunter
