Very nice and nearly new BR-160 that I picked up locally for resale. This is essentially a copy of a HD-28. Although a Martin enthusiast and loyalist I must say that dollar for dollar a new Martin can't begin to touch one of these guitars.
This one doesn't hurt for volume or clarity. Not quite as deep as a Martin but that is to be expected. Great bass and boom.
No real issues just a scratch on the back of the peghead (who is going to see that anyway) and a small ding on the soundboard that you have to be looking for to find.
I am the second owner of this guitar. Apparently somebody bought it for their husband and the music store convinced her that it was a banjo (no joke.)
The tuners have been changed out to new Martin tuners (who can complain about that) and the small screw holes have been filled in.
If you are in the market for a new guitar look no further. This one will take you through. Bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins (not Tusq like new Martins), rosewood fingerboard (not the cheap plastic "ebonized" wood like on a new Martin), pre-war forward scalloped X bracing (unlike a new Martin), Solid Rosewood back and sides and beautiful aged-Amber Solid Spruce Top. How can you go wrong especially at this price?
