I have a 1982 Frank Neat with a Blaylock Bear Tracks tone ring that I would consider trading for a nice American made open back (old or new) or Deering Hartford with a grenadillo tone ring. Willing to trade +/- cash. I have too many banjos (according to my wife), and need to trade one if I find a new one.
I sent it to Frank Neat last year for a refret and had new binding put on the neck. Everything is original except the tuners, tailpiece, and bridge. There are a couple scratches on the resonator. Arthur Hatfield recut the neck for me (It had very high action before). It plays great and has great tone - the 30 year old Cox rim & Blaylock make a great combination. I also have the original Kentucky 5 tone ring.
I'll take $1850 set up with the original Kentucky 5 or $2300 with the Beartracks. Let me know if you want any specific photos.
