I don't know nearly as much about him as the rest of you, but that was moving. I'm tearing up at the end.
I think that I had a chance to see him locally about 20 years ago, but didn't go. My loss, for sure.

Thanks Chuck. I went over to Doc's house in Deep Gap to meet him in 1976. He certainly was a down-to-earth guy. We spent most of the visit watching Bonanza.

One of the highlights of my life was meeting him and chatting in the green room after his concert in Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom. I told him I was just a street musician/busker (which I was at that time of my life) and I’ll never forget him saying “don’t say ‘just’ Son,, be proud of what you do, no matter what it is”.

I found time to watch it last night. Very well done I thought!
Glad we got to see him when he and his grandson (Richard I think?) were at the first ROMP Festival in Owensboro Ky. That was an amazing festival.
