Here's how Arlo showed it to me at my studio in NYC many years ago (1980s). I added a spiffy ending just for fun....Jack

Another great story and fine tab.  I learned this one by ear and played it many times in college in 1969-70.  I still trot it out sometimes.  I never know whether my hands will complain or I will forget some of the 20 minutes' worth of verses.  The story and humor are unforgettable, however.  I very much appreciated it when some posted a copy of the newspaper story here about two young men arrested for dumping trash in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

Once you learn this. it can also be used for a bunch of other songs:

-Robert Johnson's - They're Red Hot

-John Hartford's - Boogie

-Bill Boyd's - Can't Tame Wild Women

-Gene Austin & Roy Bergere's - How Come You Do Me Like You Do?

-Pink Anderson's - Bring It On Home

. . . and a bunch of other songs.

The old pop song Jada works too, but has a different bridge.
