I asked in the other thread for any stories folks might share about Dwight, but got no responses which I figured may have been because I put the request in an older thread about him.
So, trying again. If anyone has a story about Dwight, one of his camps, or some other experience, and wants to share it, I have been asked to collect such for creation of a tribute page on the new YPCT page being created.
I'll start with this one. A number of years ago me, Matt Evans, and Michael Brooks went up to Diller's place to do some repair on his house. We replaced rotted out soffit and facia boards with vinyl, and did a few other things such as some clean up and repair in the kitchen and bathroom. In the process of pulling off the old facia boards we found a half dozen large snake skins, dead rats and birds, and shoveled a 3 foot high pile of bat guano off the patio roof.
Dwight supervised us.
We were up there for a week, with my BBQ smoker and grill cooking something every day. I have never seen anyone who could eat as much BBQ as Dwight could, he really liked to eat, but Pug outdid him when he somehow got into the trash and ate several corncobs, which made him a little uncomfortable for a few days, but he survived and is sitting at my feet now as I type this.
Here is a picture of three of the crew, Michael Brooks was behind the camera. Not sure exactly what year this was, but Dwight is holding the first banjo I built for him which was built in 2013, so it was probably around then.
