Live gig. Recorded on my Zoom H-2--what a trooper that thing has been. Just banjo and vocal. The banjo is a 1923 Gibson Trapdoor TB-3 conversion. I"m playing what I would call "Mountain Blues" these days, mostly in two-finger style. Please let me know what you think and be honest! I"m the rare person who doesn't get defensive and actually thinks criticism helps!

Nice job and you got GREAT vocals with this which is hard to find some times .

this sounds fine, both the playing and the good singing. I'll have to evaluate what i've heard about the Gibson trapdoor and start looking for one. I think two-finger sounds terrific with this type of tune

The Trapdoor is a wonderful banjo and complements this kind of music perfectly IMHO. I considered selling mine but after hearing this I changed my mind.

F A B U L O U S . . . sounds very modal, love the tune! Are those nylon strings?

Nice! Both the banjo and vocal are well done. I play that two-finger style too--in open C tuning. But I can't sing a lick.

Thanks a million, that means a lot. All of the comments seem to be positive so far. As for the strings they are light gauge steel, not nylon. My other banjo, a custom Skipper has Nylgut strings and also sounds pretty good.
