I am forever misplacing this photo/ad with Brent Hayes.
I found it today and I'd better post it before losing it again.
That is the famous plectro or plectrum-five banjo first from Vega then later from Gibson (I think).

Interesting: His banjo has five full-length strings. According to the blurb with that ad, the extra string is a low G.
