Chuck states, his banjos have a 2 way truss rod,adjustable from the heel. Also an easy action height adjustment at the heel. I need to adjust the action on my Chuck Lee banjo. Does any one know how to use the easy action height adjustment  feature of his banjos?

Hi- just loosen the little screw/bolt on the adjustment piece (metal piece on the dowel stick where it joins the neck), and then adjust as needed.



tip- i'd hold the pot close to the body, with the neck/headstock facing away, place your thumbs on the top edges of the fretboard near the scoop, and push down/pull up as needed.



however, have you considered trying a taller or shorter bridge? (depending upon what you're trying to do with the action?)

 Just to clarify, most of Chuck's jos are made so the neck dowel stick will slide UP and DOWN slightly in the neck mortise that is machined in the rim, that's the adjustment.  It's such a simple concept that I think it's often overlooked; all banjo makers should incorporate it.  Don't be afraid to contact him, he's a great guy.

Ditto to this. And it's quite a lot of adjustment, too. I have owned a Lone Star Deluxe for 9 years now, I've gone through many bridges and head changes, and the only adjustment I've ever made was in adjusting where the dowel goes through the rim. Simply loosen the screw that wedges the dowel tight, and you'll find that the neck can be moved up or down, then retighten. No need to even remove the strings.
