This is long overdue but I just loaded my new site to the web today!

It's been ten months since we moved from Texas to Arizona and I hadn't  yet updated the site. With my wife out of town for a week it was the perfect time to set to work on this task.

I'm no pro, do all my own design, photos and sound clips and build with a fairly inexpensive software program. Personally I am pleased with the site but sure would appreciate your comments about ease of  viewing and navigation.

Parts of the web site are still under construction including the "Five String & Banjo-Ukulele" pages but I hope to be adding more content  soon!

My main concern was to get the pages for the new "LO-LO-MI Soprano Ukulele" up and running and those pages are complete.

Anyone who has viewed my old site recently may have to clear their browser if pages don't display properly.

brownbanjos.com

Thanks in advance!

Richard Brown

Seems to me you're on the right track, thumbs up!

Looks great, Richard. A nice no-nonsense site that's easy to navigate. I like that. Too many site just go overboard with all the fancy accouterments.

You asked for feedback, and here's mine: The photos that consist of composites of banjos on a gray background look kind of odd. Too much sharpening? I'd rather just see a bunch of actual banjo photos in natural settings, without the photoshop work.

And maybe change the page titles so they reflect the content (rather than brownbajjos.com for every page).

Harry, Thanks for the encouragement!

J-Walk, Thank you for your comments, I have seen your work and it is most impressive!

The pictures on the banjo pages will be replaced but I just wanted to put something up for now to fill the space. Other child pages are yet to be added but I was working in haste just to get rid of the old site and post the new ukuleles.

I'm not certain about what you mean about the page titles but certainly would want to correct that if you will enlighten me.

Thanks

Richard

Richard, I noticed that every part of your site displays "brownbanjos.com" in the browser tab. Looking at it more closely, I see that you're just showing pages from bordertownbrown.com in an HTML frame. So that explains. it. If that makes no sense, don't worry about it. It's not a big deal.

John, Thanks for your response and input, hope you can look again at my site when I have completed the banjo pages and give me more feedback.

Looks good Richard. I know that it's a work in progress, also the time that it takes to build a site. I'm sure that it will only get better! I like the video link!

today when I hit brownbanjos.com I get a page that says

This site is under development

Looks good...

I would lighten the photo on the "About" page, and increase the font size on the drop-downs in the tabs.

Nice instruments BTW...

I would like to thank everyone for their input and compliments!

Spent the morning trying to iron out some of the problems with the new site. This involved reloading the sight several times and it was not available during this process.

Hope to hear more feedback from you guys as the site progresses.

Thanks again'

Richard
