It depends, I am a panicked driver, so it depends if it is a well traveled where I am comfortable, or a strange area I don't know with a lot of traffic.

Most of the time I'm 10 - 2.  The commentators on NASCAR used to point out that Mark Martin raced with both hands at about 7-8:00 from time to time.  Benny Parsons or Ned jarret, one of them called it Mark's "Arkansas hand hold."  They mentioned he was one of the first drivers to go to the gym and use strength training and that was one reason he could bear down with both hands in that 7-8:00 position on an oval.

Definitely a 10 - 2 -- with seat belt securely fastened. I use turn signals when I turn -- which seems to be something nobody in this town is aware they even have, much less use.  I stop at all stop signs -- a complete stop, not a rolling or run through it type.  I obey all traffic laws, never speed -- gee, how boring can you get, huh?  But I've never had a traffic ticket in all my years of driving.  How many of you can say that?

When ever I drive a different vehicle I feel around on the backside of the wheel to see if there are any holes on that side. Screw holes or whatever. Sometimes there's one at the top or two at 2 and 10. Then when I'm just cruising I feel around for them to orientate my hands on the wheel. Know what I'm sayin"?!!.

Combination of 10/2 and 9/3.

Rarely drive before 10 (am) and usually always back by 2 (pm).
Between 10 and 2 my hands are usually about 9 and 3.

When the airbag blows your hand will be knocked to the sides and not into your face.

 same here, sometimes just a knee at around the 6:00, but most of the time left hand about 7:30

Usually primary hand at 12 or slightly past... Old habits die hard ( my school of driving was different from most of you) has to do with maneuverability and response time) Not for the average driver..

When I drive down the interstate with no traffic, like I did yesterday on I-5, a hand wherever it's comfortable, a position that changes every so often. On an interstate when I actually have to drive, rather than rely on cruise control, or out on a two-lane where there are corners, 9 and 3 for sure. And I don't shuffle my hands on the wheel; I use the crossover, never taking a hand from the wheel except to shift.

Somewhere between 9-10 and 3-2.  My radio controls are on the back of the steering wheel (as they all should be), so it makes it easy to adjust the volume, station, etc.

Left hand generally sits at approximately 9:47. Right hand is either shifting, resting on the shifting knob or if I'm cruising & don't need to shift a whole lot, sitting at either 2:13 or 5:27.

If I'm driving hard & fast down a back country road, I always have my hands gripped at 9:47 & 2:13.
