Just about every true B&D aficionado knows that they numbered their models 1 through 9. I'm fairly certain I understand the differences in appointments for models 1-6, with perhaps the lone exception being the number 5 as it seems a mixed bag. I'll dispense with model 9 as I will just assume that everything that could be had is there. Does anyone know what distinguishes a model 5 from a 7 and same for the jump from 7 to 8?

Polle will be replying in 3, 2, 1.......  smiley

Knowledge is a weapon - and I´m let´s say "A Well Armed Man" - at least regarding these killer banjos.

However - I´m short of time these days - and the story is long - maybe later.

PS!

The No. 5 isn´t a mixed bag - only the No. 6-9´s are.

I am looking forward to this information...all in one spot. Particularly about the #7 and #8 as I have never seen one. My hands-on-practical-knowledge jumps from 4 to 9. Please; do go on.

Gordy,

I´ll get back later with a complete overview of all Silver Bell models, styles and versions - there are many.

In the meantime - have a look at this site - it shows some/many of the higher grade examples: banjoworld.de/Bacon1.htm / banjoworld.de/Bacon2.htm

Hans,

Great site - however it contains many factual errors.

But your site construction is really great and well suited for an overview - I´ll have this in mind when coming up with the detailed infos as mentioned.

Maybe you and I could establish a co-work in order presenting these fantastic banjos in the best possible way. I´ll get back to you regarding this.

Kind regards

wink

Polle
