Hi All,



I am new here but have been lurking around for quite some time. After playing and tinkering around with some nameless tenors I've finally fulfilled my  longtime desire to own some vintage dream banjos. After a long search and talks to some banjo player friends, I've bought a Silver Bell and a Vegaphone, the two greatest prewar jazz banjos, imho.



These Banjos obviously had some previous owners. Inside the carrying case of the Silver Bell is written the name Bean Brownell of Kingsley, Iowa, also Long Beach, Calif. is written in red ink or paint. Does anybody know who he was? I would appreciate very much to know a little history of that Silver Bell.



For the previous Vegaphone owner I will ask in a seperate topic.

I can´t help you regarding its provenance - but maybe others here at BHO can. I have previously got a lot of ideas, help and infos about two of my Ne Plus Ultra´s.
