Here's a cool tune I've learned recently (Halloween actually).

My apologies for the tuning, but it sure sounded okay to the cat. :)

Jim,
As always, I enjoyed this recording and any thing you play.
In the file below Mr. Davenport played a couple of tunes in this field recording I made a couple of years back. The first is Coming Over the Hill to See Betty Baker or just Betty Baker, the second is Five Miles from Town.

Below are some photos of his October 30, 2010 concert in Knoxville.

Chuck,
Thanks for that. Wish I could have gone to the concert. Christie Burns (who I learned the tune from) did get to go.

Neato! And thanks Chuck for posting the original. I learned this one in part from Mike Bryant's fiddling (last track at cdbaby.com/cd/dlovettfriends ) who had it from Clyde Davenport, and from the transcription in Titon's book. Jim, if you get a chance, I've got a tab at hangoutstorage.com/banjohangou...12010.pdf that I'd be interested in having you look at. I never recorded it because about the same time that I worked it out I came across banjohangout.org/myhangout/mus...id=11535# which I liked so much better than what I was doing.

Great video. The cat looks like a banjo expert. Nice playing and nice tune and I really like the Saturn inlay.
