Kevin graciously donated a Tradesman Banjo for the winning prize at the July 17 Old Time Banjo Contest (Takoma Park MD, oldtimebanjofestival.com)

I played Shoes & Stockings in fDGCD and Soldier's Joy in GCGCD and the mp3's are on my homepage. Have a listen.

Contact me for questions about the Festival (includes dam Hurt & Tony Trischka) , contest, workshops, concert..........

Love this banjo.

Those Tradesman banjos are really nice, plain and simple but obviously very well built. Just happened to notice you and Kevin are both from Maryland, it's pretty up there, i gave your tunes a listen and they are great (as usual for you). i had never heard Shoes and Stalkings before, i really like it.

great sounding files, naturally. I really like Shoes and Stockings... it's a great tune and not one I hear often enough. Your take on it was playful and fun.

looks like the makings for quite a festival too. Like Paul, I really wish I could join in!

Cathy, both tunes sound great. Hopefully, my Tradesman will sound that good someday. Thanks for the tunes,

James

Great playing and sound! I like how seemlessly you injected all those variations into Soldier's Joy without missing a lick - fabulous! I recently bought/traded for my second Enoch banjo and strung its cherry neck up with Minstrel Nylgut and have been having a blast playing it at the local Farmer's markets. The walnut neck has steel strings for jammin'. It's a light banjo with a big sound! TC
