i've been here in Columbia for about 10 years and i've been kicking around the idea of going to Bills Pickin' Parlor over in West Columbia with a friend on either mandolin or guitar. has anyone been there? what is the crowd like there? good audience? it's been 15 years since i've played in front of an audience and that was a Jazz/Rock fusion band i played guitar and bass for.

Click there, and one pops up says

Click on there, fill in
COLUMBIA for city and South Carolina for state,
click GO,
and the identities of many of your neighbors will magically appear.
When I did it, I saw that there are 41 members.
I even posted a linl, so you can see it in one click.

West Columbia is my hometown. Bill's is a fantastic place to pick. You will find people of all levels there. On Friday nights they get a big enough crowd that there are usually several different groups for picking. Just pull up a chair and join one.

Shawn, there are pickers of all levels at Bill's. It is a large group and they usually break up into smaller ones for jamming. They will make you feel comfortable no matter what level you are.
