Are you ready Kids?
It's a very funny show. I watch it with my nine year old. It works on his level as well as for adults. Just the idea of mutant sea creatures under Bikini Atoll is wonderful.

I'm more connected to the ocean than I am dry land.
I handle sponges and starfish, daily.
As soon as I saw my first episode of SBSP,I felt I already knew those little guys.
They're just as funny in real life.

OK, I've actually met the voice of Sponge Bob. I was at the San Diego Comic Book convention with a friend and he asked if I wanted to meet his friend Tom. Went over, met Tom, talked for a bit, met the wife, etc., etc. After a few minutes a couple of teen age girls come up and start talking with Tom, he nods, puts his arm around them, and gets a picture taken. I have no clue what's going on. Two minutes later, same thing happens. I finally asked my friend, what on earth was going on. He looks at me and says "You don't know who Tom is?". "Nope". He's the voice of Sponge Bob (and actually many others). He's a really nice guy and the show can be pretty funny even for adults.

I'm a closet Sponge Bob fan. Shhhhhh, don't tell the wife. ![]()

My son and I watch it all the time...drives my wife nuts. Love the music, too! Lots of sea shanties.
And my useless bit of Sponge Bob trivia...the steel guitar is played by Jeremy Wakefield. A brilliant musician who has played w/ Wayne Hancock, Deke Dickerson and many others.

Is it as twisted as Ren & Stimpy? If so - I'll have to check it out.
TN_Picker - Posted - 12/17/2009: 09:28:44
Sponge Bob, yep, I think I have now seen every show, and have seen those multiple times as my little girl loves that little yeller guy! I was always hearing hearing it in the background, and then sometimes seeing bits & pieces of them, now I'm sitting there actually watching them with her....ahhhh....so this is my second childhood! ![]()

Thanks for the bit of trivia, I enjoy the steel guitar music while SpongeBob is playing with the reef blower, and the tune that plays while the monster butterfly chases the townsfolk about. (Yes, I watch this with my daughter.)

My 10 y/o son loves it... Me? In addition to banjo-noise-making, I'm also an avid cyclist, and my favorite cycling jersey is, well, you guessed it... Sponge Bob and Patrick!

You can all talk about "watching it with your kids" all you want, but I am going come straight out and admit it - I watch it even when the kids aren't around! If you listen to the sound track only, it's really annoying, but put the sound and vision together - priceless! Only Squidward remains annoyed.

I'm always ready for some Square Pants!
I'm a big fan of Mr Crabs. ![]()

Its one of my favorites, i would watch it with my daughter, now she is older and watches i-Carly and thinks i'm sort of a nerd for watching it but it does have a lot of funnty stuff for adults as well, mr Crabs is like a cartoon Jack Benny (so Cheap he can't pay attention) and episode were Spongebob found the profanity written on the dumpster was hysterical, I believe the creator of spongebob is an marine biologist by training.

Based on all these responses, I now know why I don't play the banjer any better than I do. ![]()
Now Ren & Stimpy......that was a good show, not for kids though.

I love the music on the SpongeBob show ... The Irish tunes are nautical and bubbly - much better then the Irish music at most sessions - LOL
And the Hawaiian music on SpongeBob sounds cool too .... I wish I could jam with those musicians that do the show.

I am watching it right now with my two and four year old boys. This show is the best. I am a Patrick fan!

I like how so many "stars" have been on SBSP.
If they haven't done a Shatner episode yet, they really should.
OM45GE - Posted - 12/22/2009: 04:25:21
David Bowie, P!nk, Johnny Depp, Christopher Guest...the list goes on - Shatner would be a great addition.
