Just posted a new Melrose Chechen Tubaphone in the classifieds.

Wow! What a beautiful instrument!! Is the Chechen rim harder or softer than maple?
melrosemusicsupply - Posted - 11/19/2009: 20:31:46
Chechen is very close in density to hard maple.

That sounds great. I was just curious as to how the neck turned out on the big pot. Send over some pictures sometime.
Yeah, this is priced quite a bit less than they would typcally sell for. I am trying to clean out what I have in stock to start a new run at the beginning of the year. So if you know someone that needs a player send them my way.

That'a great price. I have one of your maple rims on a Romero and it's a beauty. Chechen looks great and sounds great too. I'm surprised it isn't used more on banjos.

unclekurty,
You are correct Chechen does sound wonderful. I credit that find to Jason Romero. He has built a couple beautiful banjos with these Chechen rims. What a find!
Thank you, Jason turns my rims in to a work of art. He and Mrs. Romero are true artists.

Hi Chris,
I notice you have the Tubaphone listed in the "Swap" section. Are you considering some sort of trade?

Jeesh... I can't believe this instrument is still languishing on the classifieds. The market is still the pits as they say. Such a beautiful Banjo Chris.
 Good luck, Moss
