Remember it's illegal to wear a uniform for fraud which that would have been the case if the guy wasn't real...I'm sure the guy would have gone down for that reason...
minstrelmike, becareful the next time you rent a $20.00 Army uniform. Don't wear white socks with your Class A's.
Thank you, "Count" Hugh

I can remember when I was in the military. I can't remember exactly where I was at the time, but I had just been paid and decided I wanted to treat myself to a gourmet meal. I went to a very posh restaurant wearing a dress Navy uniform. Just as I entered the place I was ushered back outside, "We don't allow military personnel in our establishment." I went to a German Hoffbrau Haus instead, had a great meal, some good beer and a wonderful time. The snobs didn't need my business or my money anyway.

Just saw this thread. The only possible explanation is that your administrator is an idiot.

I know that some believe that I have an axe to grind, but that is not the case. I did not attend the football game that night, but the soldier's mother shared the picture below with me today.
After the rally, the principal became aware of what happened (I emailed him). To his great credit, he realized the seriousness of the slight (and probably the potential for some VERY bad publicity). He invited the young man to spend the game with him on the sideline.
The soldier on the left is the reason I started this thread. No bad history, no restraining orders, no drug problems. Just a great young man serving his country.

Good for the principal! It sounds like all's well that ends well, but I'm sure there is still a lesson to be learned by the junior administrator, and if he wants to advance to principal he does indeed have some lessons to be learned.
