85 years young...WOW.
There is hope for all of us to pick to a good young age.
Happy Birthday, I hope to meet you in person someday!
I would like to hear from BHO members, about personal experiences with Mr. Earl Scruggs. What a way to celebrate his birthday on the BHO!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EARL.
Also, a sincere Thank You, for all you've done with the banjo. It's because of you that most of us are here on the Hangout. It's definetly because of you I've got to have the life I've lead, and now playing in my band with my son.
I've played shows with you, met you countless times, been to your house several times, and found you are exactly, the great, kind, caring, man that you seem to be.
85 years old...I'm doing good at 55, you look like a million bucks, and sound even better. Farley

I promised somebody that I'd stop recycling the Earl Scheib auto painting neon advertisment.

So, instead, I'm asking
Was Earl Scruggs born in a hospital?

Or at home?

Home in town, or home on a farm?

I suppose I could look it up, but there's a few dozen BHO members who already made it their job to KNOW stuff about Earl.

DagNABbit, Farley!
You done SWIPED my punchline!

To which I was OH so carefully wending my way.

Ah,well, better I should go install the work light, over at the stained glass studio,
than I should spend time getting ready to annoy people who think Earl shouldn't be joked about.

I respect and admire old Earl (Scruggs, much more than Scheib), but I joke about everybody, and wouldn't want either of them to feel left out or ignored.

Sandy Rothman - Posted - 01/08/2009:  03:27:15

Prior to the last 3 posts and the one from mrphysics55, I was feeling proud of the possibility Earl might actually read this Happy Birthday thread. Oh well, I'm sure he understands (better than I do).
