Since Pete's longneck is un-capoed, is this in E tuning? I really like this version of Little Birdie with Johnny Cash looking on.

There's is a tuning that's known as "Little Birdie" tuning:
f#DABE or eCGAD

Seeger uses the tuning for "Little Birdie" that he learned from Lily May Ledford: gCGAD. Uncapoed on a long neck that would come out: eAEF#B. It says in Pete's banjo book that there was an entire banjo transcription on the tune in Sing Out! in 1961; that may still be available from Sing Out!
