Heard some excerpts from his "Recapturing the Banjo" CD, like it and will buy it. Cross between old timey and the blues by some great black players. Wondering what everyone thinks. Some of it sounds like Mike Seegar and the old "New Lost City Ramblers".....who were great and put our some great recordings prserving some great music. Otis Taylor and his assosiates are putting down a new bend on old timey, blues and jazz that sounds very fresh.

It's a fine CD. At first, I didn't care for a few of the tracks, but now I like 'em all.

Actually, J, it'll stay here. I started a thread on the same CD elsewhere and had it moved to this section. I agree, Doug, that CD is awesome. My copy is on the way. Thus far, I've only heard samples, but WOW, powerful stuff!

Yep, I've had it a couple of weeks and am really enjoying it ...old timey and modern at the same time - and accessible to non-banjo nuts also...
