Being a beginner I am not an expert on the banjo sound but I love the way this banjo sounds. Great highs and lows. As the add says more bang fo the buck. My neighbors can vouce for that.

I went with the planatery tuners and love them. Also like the adjustable straight line tail piece. I also got the TKL hard shell case made for gold tone well worth the money.

If you are looking for a quality starter banjo this is the one. Looked at many other banjos in the same price range but nothing held a candle to the gold tone cc100r/p. One of the few things I have bought in a while that I am totaly pleased with.
