Capos: The Ultimate Banjo Capo

Overall Comments

I had bought this capo about 16 months ago. To my dismay at a jam one weekend and after removing this capo, I could feel that the back of the neck on my 2 year old Deering Golden Era was rough and chipped. After further inspection I could see that the back of the neck was gouged right through to the wood.
I also noticed on the capo, that the felt strip and the brass cradle that holds the felt came completly off and I was twisting the bolt (that was holding the felt and cradle) into the wood of my banjo neck when I was tightening it to capo.
I then emailed Janet Davis and was told that it wasn't the first time that this had happened.
What a mess it left. I brought my Deering to the repair shop and its going to cost me $300 to get the neck repaired.
Stay away from this capo.
Thank you Dave Elliot.
