Where Purchased: Hatfield Music
I purchased this pickup hoping it would end my long pickup search and it didn't work out for me. One of the first things that I didn't like about it was that the jack is a 3.5mm(1/8") headphone jack which means you're tied to the cable that is included with it. I tried to fit an adapter on it but I couldn't find one that would fit in my flange where it mounts. My main issue is that it had a single coil guitar like-pickup hum. I immediately notified Jack Hatfield and he advised me to send it back to him. After he received it he advised me there was no hum and sent me a replacement, As soon as I got the replacement plugged in it had an identical hum. I plugged in another instrument (little casio keyboard) to the same cable and amp and there was no hum. I then plugged the banjo into my portastudio and made an mp3 recording so Jack Hatfield could hear what I heard. He advised me he did not hear the hum and that the problem must have been in my house wiring. As a last ditch effort I took the pickup to a gig and ended up using a Shure 57 mic because the soundman said the pickup had "a loud hum". After finally convincing Jack to allow me to return it for a refund he ended up charging me a 15% restocking fee (his website claims it's 10%) and went on to complain about how his credit card machine charges him for each transaction and he put a lot of time into this transaction and found the hum must be in my house (and the bar I was gigging at too apparently). On the plus side the pickup did sound good and was easy to install. I would have kept it if not for the hum, I'm usually playing solo guitar/banjo gigs and I need good sound. It's a good idea but poorly executed and his customer service left something to be desired.

Where Purchased:
This is the best bridge I've tried. The bridge is sweet, crisp, deep, and bright, Beautiful craftsmanship, this one has snakewood cap. I also own a standard old maple Kat Eyz and it's great one too, but the McCormick spice factory wood has a special flavor that I've started to prefer. I only own 5 different makes of bridges but this one is by far the best.
