just a cheap banjo. Poor sound.

bad set up on arrival. I tore this banjo apart and installed a Morgan Monroe MGB-2 tone ring I had lying around. I set it up good and holly cow. It must just love the rim and tone ring together. This banjo is as loud as any I have heard. It has tons of bass and sustain taht is unreal. It has surprised everyone at the jam session. As cheap as this banjo is you could buy a tone ring and have a real good banjo that you are not afraid to scratch up and not have much in it either. I would not recommend bvuying one to play as is, if sound is what you want.
