very bright if picked that way but can be mellow if picked softly. This banjo is suited for clawhammer and old time style. Nice weight and playablility. |

Setup

It came out of the box set up perfect. I changed to a Moon heavy bridge only because that seems to be preferred with many CH players. I am not certain there is any major difference than the stock but needs time to settle in. |

beautiful banjo, maple dark stained mahogony color with cloud inlays not overbearing but classy. As far as flaws a couple of shoe brackets had minor finish flaws but nothing to really complain about. |

Reliability

I believe all the hardware is of quality and will last many years longer than I will. Some have mentioned tuners but I find nothing wrong with the tuners. The fret work was perfect. This banjo will stand up with banjos costing much more. |

I think Gold Tones warranty speaks for this particular review. Lifetime to original owner and five years to second. It tells me Gold Tone is more than confident of the quality. You don't make money doing free warranty repair. |

I would recommend this banjo to anyone wanting to play Clawhammer banjo without investing a lot of money and still have a banjo to be proud of. I love it and would buy another if stolen. |
