I'm teaching a sewing camp this week and I wanted to show the kids how to make a stuffed animal...or banjo. They got my point. :) Should I tell Rob I'm getting into the business?!?

I would suggest you not drop this bomb on him until he ships Sheri's banjo. Otherwise, he might quit right now when he sees this competition, and she'll blame you!!

Ha ha ha! I love it!

Heeeey........wait just one darn minute. Now that I look more closely, that feller holdin' that banjo looks a lot like me! You didn't use my photo as a model, didja??? Am I gonna have to sue for royalties???

vdiazleroy Says:
Friday, July 13, 2012 @3:33:11 PM

Don't sue! I'll give you a cut of all profits...I promise!

Alrighty, then. Just make the checks out to 'thebanjobert'!!

Nooooooo!!! Please do NOT delay my banjo shipment Valerie! My B-Day is 7/30 and I'm hoping for a "banjo-surprise". Of course, that would mean Rob is 3 - 4 weeks ahead of his promised ship date but I'm hoping it gets here this month! : )

I'll let Rob do his thing. I remember what it was like waiting for my banjo. And, I'm going to Nash Camp for Bluegrass week. I'm doing singing with Claire Lynch and I am SO excited. I thought about Banjo week, but I'm not sure what will be going on at school that week and it's difficult to take off work to drive up for the weekend.

Lucky you; I love Claire Lynch! One of my favorites.

I keep hoping someone I "know" will be at camp. Oh, well. I'm looking forward to meeting some wonderful people :)

Wouldn't it be a hoot if some of us Bishliners could get together at a camp sometime? We could do a little pickin', a little singin', and a lot of grinnin'!!

TNBanjoGirl Says:

I'd be there for sure for a Bishline camp! Hey, Terry, maybe Rob could have a "Homecoming" party and all his banjos come 'home' to visit! I used to work at the Saturn plant for 14 years. They had a "Saturn Homecoming" for all of their car owners in the 90s...People came from all over the US & Canada with these vehicles just to attend a party. Brand loyalty, I guess.

Hey Valerie, I checked the jam schedule here to see if anything was going on while you were going to be in town. Thought maybe I could bring to a TN jam. Unfortunately, the schedules don't match up too well...our "Slow Jams" are the 2nd & 4th Thursdays and the larger picking parties that I attend are Friday 8/10 and Friday 8/31. I only live a few miles from the camp, but I'm sure you'll be very busy all week. If you're in town early (the weekend of 7/27), there's a Bluegrass Festival in Franklin, which is the next town east of where the camp is held (probably only 15 miles away). I've never been to it before but I do plan to check it out this year.

I've actually mentioned that to Rob before, Sheri, and he said he had already considered such a thing. Maybe if he knew other folks were interested, he would be more receptive to the idea. I'll plant a little seed and nourish it a bit, and see if we can get it to grow! Wow......potentially hundreds of banjo players coming to town. Tulsa would never be the same............ :-)

TNBanjoGirl Says:
Monday, July 16, 2012 @7:30:10 AM

Oh wow! We may be onto something here! You DEFINITELY need to mention it to Rob because when I was researching for a new banjo, I could tell that Bishline definitely had loyal customers. I think he'd get a pretty good showing of Bishline owners. He could just do a weekend thing - a few classes, picking party at night, etc. If he has contact info for all of his Bishline owners, he could send them an email to get an idea of how many people would be interested and what they would like to see at the camp...

thebanjobert Says:
Monday, July 16, 2012 @7:51:05 AM

Ok; I'm on it. Gee, between bugging him about your banjo and now suggesting he sponsor a camp, there's a good chance he'll never speak to me again. I've never actually been banned from someone's place of business before...........

TNBanjoGirl Says:
Monday, July 16, 2012 @8:38:15 AM

Maybe wait 'til he ships my banjo...just to be on the safe side. I don't want him to get sidetracked! (just kidding) : )

thebanjobert Says:
Monday, July 16, 2012 @9:00:02 AM

I promise I won't tell him you're the instigator of the "1st Annual Bishline Owners Banjo Camp"; I'll just ask him if he knows it was you........ :-)

vdiazleroy Says:
Monday, July 16, 2012 @7:57:52 PM

Wow, I missed a lot. My mom has been visiting while you have been planning! I would love to have a Bishline Camp...just after the wedding.

And, Sheri, I'm still figuring out my schedule, but it would be neat to meet up. I'll let you know when I figure it all out!

Good looking jo. How does she sound? :)

vdiazleroy Says:
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 @4:00:05 AM

Well, thanks. This banjo has a soft, mellow tone. She's great for picking on the couch, but, unfortunate.y, can't hold her own in a jam. :)

thebanjobert Says:
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 @3:59:39 PM

Ok, Rob is in for the 1st Annual Bishline Banjo Camp. First order of business, brainstorm a better name...........

TNBanjoGirl Says:
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 @4:10:18 PM

Really? I didn't think you were going to mention it yet? So much for the pre-planning part. I just got home so I haven't had a chance yet to respond to your earlier email, but I will later tonight.

BTW, did you see my banjo? Did you play it?

thebanjobert Says:
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 @4:17:47 PM

The planning is still up to us, for the most part. I only asked if we could proceed, and he said "absolutely"!

I did, indeed see your bano - it was sitting right next to where he gives the lesson. I didn't play it (as promised), but Rob did. Would you like to hear it??? :-) It is absolutely beautiful; unique, but very tasteful. And I'm not just saying that. The prettiest banjo I've seen come out of that shop in a while, and it sounds fantastic!!

vdiazleroy Says:
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 @5:07:33 PM

A name for the camp...I'll think about that

. However, I think the headlining act for concert night is Banjo Bert and his Bishline Allstars. I hear they are quite good!

thebanjobert Says:
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 @5:11:54 PM

Ha!! You are too funny!! I'm pretty sure I know who Banjo Bert is, but can you give me a hint of whom the Bishline Allstars might consist (as if I didn't know!)? :-)

vdiazleroy Says:
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 @5:37:06 PM

We can get matching outfits...I'd better go practice some songs...

I'm glad you ladies like it. I'll see if Rob can work us up a good banjo arrangement for it. But you two will have to do all the singing - those romantic ballads make me cry..............

And, Val? TMI.............

Hey, my banjo is on it's way! I will try to post my final pics online tonight.

thebanjobert Says:
Wednesday, July 18, 2012 @6:11:08 PM

How cool is that??? Six weeks early? I still think that's one of the prettiest banjos I've seen in a while!

TNBanjoGirl Says:
Wednesday, July 18, 2012 @6:26:52 PM

It's supposed to be here Friday 7/20. That would make it 8 weeks to the day exactly. I thought they were running at about 12 weeks on their builds which would have put the shipment into late August. Thank you for your help! I'm sure Rob is glad that one is gone! You should be a Bishline liason for BHO members waiting on custom builds...I'm sure Rob would really appreciate that! HA!

thebanjobert Says:
Wednesday, July 18, 2012 @6:35:05 PM

Well, thanks, Sheri but I really didn't do anything. That's just Rob's excellent service, as always. He knows people are anxious to get their banjos. Now, if I can do anything to steer anyone toward buying a Bishline, I'll certainly do that!! :-) Seriously, thank you for letting me be a part of it. I felt I had my nose too far in your and Rob's business, at times and I apologize if I did. It was just a lot of fun for me to watch the developement!

vdiazleroy Says:
Wednesday, July 18, 2012 @9:38:34 PM

Sheri-I am so excited for you!

And, Terry, I've said this before-we are all a bit jealous that you get to see the magic all come together.

thebanjobert Says:
Thursday, July 19, 2012 @6:29:17 AM

It's definitely my privilege to be able to see some of these banjos come together. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I walk in there every week!! I felt like a proud uncle when I went in Tuesday and saw Sheri's banjo sitting on the stand, completed. I had absolutely nothing to do with it's birth, but I went home and had a cigar, anyway!!

Ok; now we need to get serious about planning the Bishline Banjo Camp so we can get you folks to bring your banjos back "home" for a few days.............

vdiazleroy Says:
Thursday, July 19, 2012 @6:42:46 AM

Do you have a time in mind already for BBC? Is it a few months out? A year out? More? I think I've erased any emails from the two of you. I'll send you each a message so you have mine. Then let's get the calendar out!

thebanjobert Says:
Thursday, July 19, 2012 @7:16:25 AM

I have suggested a date which would be a little more than a year out. Rob was good with it; Sheri is mulling it over. I will send it to you for your thoughts, and how I arrived at that date. But I agree; let's take this offline and correspond by e-mail because I want a lot more thoughts and suggestions from you ladies than just a date! Thanks...............
